yeah that happens generally when one camp is trying to pull out of the fight because they dont feel their fighter is ready or will have a good shot at things. i cant say who's side it would be but i would guess its kimbo's as mercer already has pro mma fights and wasnt afraid to take a loss.
its like when tommy morrison made his pro debut just recently, the camps couldnt agree and morrison's camp didnt want a full on mma fight, and the commission wasn't sure on his hiv status and bla bla bla, they ended up fighting basically a boxing match rules exhibition which favored morrison easily and he got his first win.
i wouldnt be surprised if something like that happened with this one between the camps and the commission.
