Does Anyone Use Satellite High Speed Internet?

My cottage is in an area where we can't get high speed cable/dsl. We also can't get the Rogers High Speed Wireless because our lake is a little too far from the nearest tower.

Seems like our only alternative would be the Xplornet System, seems a bit pricey and I have heard mixed results on high speed satellite internet. Seems to be a bit of a delay when you send and receive? Upload speeds seem to be a bit slow?

Maybe things have improved since last time I checked them out, anyone here use high speed satellite internet? Would love to hear what you think, I'm dying up there on my dial up LOL!

    Thanks,
    DH

Stop using the internet at the cottage! The cottage was intended for a place to relax! I hate to say it, but i bet your blackberry will be the best option to surf

SUCKED ASS. Weather would make connectivity a problem every now and then, there was always a lag as well

            Dial Up?

Hmm, I vaguely remember the term.

Isn't that a torture method used by the cold war era KGB?
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

            Webair, bitches.

Satellite is basically like ISDN if you remember that. Except the fact that up is always slow, and weather effects it.
              Brief revisit. (mic drop)

                No it's called DH's cottage

Nothing like dialing up, checking e-mail and then having breakfast, going for a swim and then coming back to see it's about 75% downloaded LOL!

                Very painful dude!
