Read Joe's 3-page psychiatric evaluation on the Smoking Gun.MAY 14--"Girls Gone Wild" boss Joe Francis has been having such a rough time in a Florida jail that he recently told a psychiatrist that suicide was a possibility if his imprisonment was prolonged.
The porn impresario, who this week finishes a 45-day sentence for criminal contempt, also told Dr. Ronald Markman that he was being housed with "all murderers" in his section of the Bay County lockup.
"I started freaking out and screaming, I couldn't breathe," said Francis. "I don't think I can handle this on a long-term thing--I'm not a criminal." Markman, hired by Francis's defense team, interviewed the 34-year-old late last month and drafted the below report, which was filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Nevada. Markman concluded that while Francis was "clinically stable," he demonstrated "significant psychiatric issues" for which he has shunned treatment due to embarrassment.
During a two-hour interview, the inmate appeared to minimize his drug and alcohol use, Markman concluded. Francis denied using pot, claimed to have tried cocaine only a few times, and said he had one drink per week. He also copped to trying mushrooms.
The psychiatric report was included in a defense filing seeking to have Francis expeditiously transferred from the Florida jail to Reno, Nevada, where he is to soon be arraigned on a federal indictment charging him with tax evasion.
While Francis petitioned to be allowed to travel from Florida to Nevada via commercial airliner, that request was rejected last week by a federal magistrate judge. Instead, Francis, who usually travels via Lear jet, will fly cross-country on "ConAir", the no-frills (and often circuitous) prisoner transport service operated by the U.S. Marshals Service.

So since Joe makes millions he should be allowed to hide his money in offshore accounts and fake fronts, and not pay taxes, while honest working people have to pay up?
While I do suspect Francis was selectively prosecuted for being an arrogant prick, I would like to see the most wealthy pay more of the tax burden, instead of getting big tax breaks - and for other wealthy tax system abusers to spend a little time in Club Fed as well...

I don't think that's it. The guy is a serious asshole according to most people. He's been accused of rape by a lot of girls, and a reporter claims she saw him do it and even said he physically assaulted her. He plays games with his lawyers on lawsuits and tried to fuck over the people in the lawsuit against him.

I am sure some people are. There are lots of the jealous types here.
But, look at how he makes his money. He takes pictures of drunk girls and distributes it for profit. Those of you who shoot content know you can't even enter into a valid contract with a model who you are trying to PAY when they are drunk. I don't know shit about him but I'll say that he's an idiot for not paying his taxes - assuming that these aren't small errors by bad accountants that he is getting crucified for. There is zero excuse.
If the guy is sloppy with his business affairs then he's also guilty of being greedy and staying in the business too long and not selling out sooner. Some people aren't cut out for operating that type of business and simply need to cash out at some point because they are incapable of the responsibility of dollars that large.
On a side note - if somehow along the road he just simply hasn't been a good person then I would say that perhaps karma has caught up with him. This makes for another good argument - the idea that for most people that make it quite this large that it's not just simply good luck or smarts, that they've had to do quite a few 'bad' things along the way to achieve massive success.

I do understand that money does not make you...you make money.
From what I have seen and heard, he forgot that and let the money define him as a person, and was under the misconception that it made him invincible.

Had he been a great stand up guy with some notable service to the community, he would have been in position to catch a break, and make some deals.
