One of my friends is a professional photographer. Besides mainstream stuff, he also does erotic photography Carlson Digital.
He always does the "worst case scenario" talk with potential models several times.
He's told me that he's rejected some models because he felt they didn't fully understand the implications of having their image on the net.
He also told me that often times he would see them later on the net. They just simply went to another photographer that would photograph them.
So Donny, your recent return to Christianity aside, you're beating yourself up.
The model who might lose her scholarship.....if you hadn't have shot her, she would have found someone else who would and still be in the same predicament.
Then again, it is a shame that this stuff happens to these girls. Just because a girl poses nude at 19, that shouldn't mean that her life should be completely fucked from there on out.

I've told a few people about the new business I've started. Simply because I didn't tell you about it doesn't mean I'm keeping it secretive.
If you must know, I'm still working as a photographer and webmaster. The only difference is that now I'm photographing cars and managing dealer websites. When the local auto dealership hired me to create an online presence and online marketing campaign for them I started doing research. I spoke with dealers all over the area. The overwhelming feedback I received was that they didn't have time to photograph their inventory and put it online.
Their internet sales managers told me they don't like doing anything "technical" with their websites (such as adding photos, changing descriptions or changing anything else that needed changed).
Hey, what a need, eh? And right up my alley. I have the photo gear and "know how" to both photograph their inventory and update their websites. I found a company that does something similar in a different market and met with them, leasing their "back end" software to make my job a bit easier (don't have to develop it myself).
And now I'm once again back in business for myself. Now I show up once a week to each client, photograph their inventory, figure out what they want changed on their website, and handle it.Comment

Stories like this are sad. It's not about morals, people decide those themselves, its a level of personal decency that a person holds. When it comes to pushing your personal, social, church, professional, or any other beliefs on someone else then you are violating their personal freedoms and liberties in the process.Comment

I don't want to make anyone feel guilty. That's not my place. But I also get really tired of doing a search for my name and finding it being used as the butt of so many jokes. So what I do is share some of the reasons why I can't produce content anymore. FOR ME, it's far too selfish to keep doing it.
Are there other things in life that are selfish? Of course there are. Everywhere. My lifestyle was one that was very selfish and I'm willing to admit that. I've had other people from this industry (and in positions of "power") who tell me they agree with my decision and wish they had the balls to do the same thing, but tell me they can't because the money is just too good for them.
Do you know what I say in response? Nothing of condemnation, that's for sure. I say "I understand". Because I do. I wanted to quit for a long long long time before I finally did. The money was too good and too easy.
What's really weird is that I enjoy the "struggle" of living as a "normal" person. I love wondering where the money is going to come from to support myself. I can only describe it as "it makes me feel alive".
As for why I come here, here's why:

At the churches I spoke on the weekend of my first public speaking engagement I publicly stated that the worst pornographers I've ever met are put to shame by some of the Christians I've met from my past.
Now, the real goal is to bring the "honesty" of the porn business into the church. What a great day that would be! I think a better goal would be to bring the community aspect of the church into real life. You seem like an intelligent person, i'm sure you must realize that the christian church is an organization that prides themselves in condemning those that think outside of their box. The community aspect makes people feel good about it, like watching a soccer game and cheering for the same team. But that's all it is when it boils down, mob mentality.
