Let me repeat: If swedish law says that for some reason they can violate copyright without repercussion, then more power to them --> WHEN THE DELIVER IT TO SWEDISH PEOPLE. When they start distributing it to other countries, they need to respect the laws of those other countries, which they specifically don't do. In any other country, the material would be considered stolen, and takes away income from the industry as a whole.

Add to that of course that TPB doesn't check to see where the content is to start with. Most of their peers and seeds are not in Sweden. TPB makes a major mistake by running their own tracker on their domain, as it shows they are not only an innocent "link site" but in fact a catalog and locating service for stolen material.

The reality for Sweden is they are a very tiny market. I could see movie, music, and even porn companies saying "You want to not respect copyright, we won't sell in your country anymore" Like anyone would notice a 0.0001% drop in sales because Sven can't get his copy of Buttman fucks Butts.

I suspect that the Swedish government would change their tune pretty quickly if the major software and movie companies suddenly pulled out of their market and forbid the use of their products in the country.

I am already seeing comcast's solution first hand (article)...I run a torrent site with independent electronic artists, all the music is legal and allowed to be freely distributed....comcast is now throttling my internet usage when it detects I am seeding torrents
