See, I was ever so slightly involved with a large incident.

Have you ever heard of that series "Catfish"... this was sorta like that.

This person was posting craigs list ads. portraying themselves as an older adult. I had recently broken up with my girlfriend. I was checking out the local DTF ads. I answered one. I talked to this person for a part of 2 days online. About sex. I was also told there was a job. A life. An Adult life. There was a whole sham story.

The next morning they came to my house and let's just say, they were not what I... expected. They were not there even 5 minutes. They were told to leave, never to be seen nor heard from again. I did not take them as being underage, but I did not expect what came to my door.

Having seen what craigslist ads can produce I never answered another ad again.

7 or 8 months later I was arrested one morning before work. shackled, chained to a chair. held for an hour or so before even being told what was going on. You could imagine me never being arrested before, being hauled in and chained to a chair for an hour with no answers. It blew my mind when it all came about. I was pulled in because there was the email trail and the sex talk. Since they came to my house. I was immediately bundled up with the whole mess.

It seems this person was rampantly doing this very thing to others all over my area. Tricking people into thinking they were older and obviously not who they are. I was one of 10 arrested that day. Notice some articles in the news say 5. That's because the media is hungry for attention and acted quick.

The news article went out while I was being interrogated and the televised news went out the next day after I had already been let go and back at work. You can't imagine the humility I felt. I thought my life ended. I never had an ulcer but I developed one during that time. Retching blood out of pure stress. I had never felt that before. I still feel like the victim. In the end, it blew over in a month or so and I don't really think about it until someone brings it up and I have to explain myself. At first it was really hard. Now it's uncomfortably comfortable? I especially dreaded having to tell this story here. Well here it is.

Bottom line is this. I was not convicted and rightfully so as I am innocent of such a horrible crime. I fully cooperated with the authorities and told my side of the story. You might also try things like 'Reputation Defender' and such. We in Adult know how to use DMCA takedown companies who remove pirated content but there are also mainstream versions. I have seen them advertised on tv. They will scour the web and takedown anything critical of you that they legally can. I would get on that right away, like tonight.

If the places that reported it are reputable news sources you can contact the editor in charge, tell them your story and demand a retraction. They might want some kind of proof or to interview you so you can tell your side of the story. They may also decline if you refuse to show proof or talk to them on the record.

If they don't retract (they could do the work themselves to find out the truth, but many of them are lazy) you could always sue, but in reality it wouldn't be cheap for you to do so and the odds of you winning much are likely not that great.

Still, just be fair and firm with them. I have and worked at a few magazines and newspapers. They understand that they sometimes get things wrong.

There is actually a movie coming out soon about Richard Jewell who was the guy who was suspected of being the bomber at the Atlanta Summer Olympics.

While working as a security guard during the games he found a suspicious looking backpack and alerted the police. He helped evacuate the are and likely saved a bunch of lives. He was then considered a suspect and the media basically convicted him before any of the facts every came out. It destroyed his life. Once the facts came out and the media were found to be wrong few of them offered any kind of retraction. They basically ruined his life.

These days in the media is all about being first even if you aren't right.

I hung with him on a friendly basis back in the day and he was an amazingly humble and cool person at the time. I haven't talked to him since he became so famous, and that fucks people up all too often so not sure he is the same Evan I once knew. But I would give him more than the benefit of the doubt since he is someone I would say gets "The cosmic joke".

Don't know Dollard, haven't read the book, so not fair for me to say, but the business Dollard is in I have met enough people in his position to know that many tend to be arrogant, manipulative, self absorbed douche bags... what did Evan make him look like?

I never wanted to this to come out here but I assumed it would eventually. Yes, I was arrested for the charge the article has in it. But It's not at all what happened. You can either take this for truth or you can assume the worst. I hope my integrity that I have tried to maintain here over the years will shine through and my words will be accepted. I was never convicted. In fact, the day I was arrested and hauled in (for the first time in my life) the charge was dropped after I told my side of the story. See, I was ever so slightly involved with a large incident. Have you ever heard of that series "Catfish"... this was sorta like that. This person was posting craigs list ads. portraying themselves as an older adult. I had recently broken up with my girlfriend. I was checking out the local DTF ads. I answered one. I talked to this person for a part of 2 days online. About sex. I was also told there was a job. A life. An Adult life. There was a whole sham story. The next morning they came to my house and let's just say, they were not what I... expected. They were not there even 5 minutes. They were told to leave, never to be seen nor heard from again. I did not take them as being underage, but I did not expect what came to my door. Having seen what craigslist ads can produce I never answered another ad again. 7 or 8 months later I was arrested one morning before work. shackled, chained to a chair. held for an hour or so before even being told what was going on. You could imagine me never being arrested before, being hauled in and chained to a chair for an hour with no answers. It blew my mind when it all came about. I was pulled in because there was the email trail and the sex talk. Since they came to my house. I was immediately bundled up with the whole mess. It seems this person was rampantly doing this very thing to others all over my area. Tricking people into thinking they were older and obviously not who they are. I was one of 10 arrested that day. Notice some articles in the news say 5. That's because the media is hungry for attention and acted quick. The news article went out while I was being interrogated and the televised news went out the next day after I had already been let go and back at work. You can't imagine the humility I felt. I thought my life ended. I never had an ulcer but I developed one during that time. Retching blood out of pure stress. I had never felt that before. I still feel like the victim. In the end, it blew over in a month or so and I don't really think about it until someone brings it up and I have to explain myself. At first it was really hard. Now it's uncomfortably comfortable? I especially dreaded having to tell this story here. Well here it is. Bottom line is this. I was not convicted and rightfully so as I am innocent of such a horrible crime. I fully cooperated with the authorities and told my side of the story. I am not a sex offender and I never will be. I would never try to hurt anyone young and I certainly would never try to have sex with them. Some of you that know me... I'm pretty sure wouldn't ever expect that of me. So, when people say await an outcome of justice... I implore it. I really would appreciate it if people never brought this up again.
