It's irrelevant what's the best selling, the important thing is what is the best TV. Sales guys could be pounding a particular brand / tv because they get the biggest kickback, marketing budgets may be astronomical on certain tvs.
Go to the shop and look for yourself. Then buy a Sony, Sharp or Samsung ![]() |

Too many details to compare (size, technology, refresh rates, etc). There are plenty of shopping guides out there. Best thing to do is to draw your own conclusions and then buy the TV that is "best for you". (Personally I like Panasonic and Samsung).

LCD is an obsolete technology.
If you're hunting for a new TV, i wouldn't consider an LCD. (unless you specifically are shooting for the cheap ass deal) |

![]() Then again back in those days a 60" Hitachi rear projection cost $7000-8000 a pop. I have had great luck with Samsung personally and would def buy another one. |
