I read a few things on backlinks... but would like some advice before diving in the wrong pool.

Are they good or bad? Is there a solid company that can create them? Or better off just buying more banners?

Any advice is much appreciated!

The best way to get backlinks is naturally, by having a site people care to link to.

People selling backlinks will say otherwise.

please do not use so much backlinks, it very hurt your business. check your stats and see where your visitors are comming from. if someone is not sending much sales, tell him to remove your backlinks or your backlinks will be all over the place. oops sorry i told i will not fuck with your business anymore ...

Well, if your backlinks are coming from the same type of sites with authority then yes they can help you tremendously.

Links coming from site that sells socks, linking to a porn site wont do you any good.

I'd already explained to you about creating a links page. From there you can drive traffic to your sites from banner exchanges & back/hardlink exchanges.

You cant really go wrong with having a load of site with a cpl of links sending traffic to you if they dont want to nessessarily take up your affiliate program, can you.

Traffic leaks? No linking from the website into the links page. A seperate page for hardlinks. The backlinks would obviously go straight into the site.

I just love all the conflicting data in threads like these. If you really want to learn about backlinks you are on the wrong board and asking the wrong people.....

I could write a 4 page post on backlinks but I will make it easy.

Backlinks = good
Buying 1000's of backlinks = bad
Anchor your backlinks with text, fuck banners.
Keep incoming links relevant to your site. Spamming blogs, forums etc = bad if you give a shit about the domain you are trying to build.

If you are going to build your own backlinks into your site, spread the sites out over different hosts. if IP .123 is linking into site .123 its not gonna help your cause.
