Paypal is a bad option for payments
While this idea is seriously tempting.. It is also a very bad one.
Using paypal as a payment option will only hurt this business. You think things are worse..... if the industry goes this route, they can surely expect to open a nasty can of worms. I am sure a few ppl will agree, while some will disagree.. that is fine... Either way, i hate doing this whining stuff.. But i dont want us to wake up one morning asking ourselves why we even considered paypal... or thought of using it. I say stick to cheques till an industry standard company proves themself. Yes, i am aware that pp is still shaky ground.. but before they give the go ahead, its best to alert everyone to stare away from their path or risk losing their business to some serious competition & lots of scammers. Peace.. im out..

Why is everyone guessing at this? Send them an email to their Acceptable Use Policies department at [email protected]. Tell them exactly who you want to pay and what their relationship is to your company and they will email you back with a definitive answer.

The very best way to pay people is by check or wire transfer. If you any other 3rd party service, you are taking a chance. In the event of any kind of disagreement, you might need legal proof that a payment was made. If you pay by check, you get the proof in the form of a canceled check sent to you from your bank along with detailed legal record keeping. Same for wire payments.
Who's to say that a 3rd party payment service such as Epassporte is Legal proof? They aren't a bank, and they might not even in Canada or the US and have no FDIC Insurance like a bank does. Any hopes of getting real answers might be tougher than you think. Of course there's also this problem: What happens when someone pays a company for a service, but the company never receives the payment because the payment service goes tits-up before the company can withdraw the funds? The customer paid his money after all... Everyone should learn a lesson from the Epassporte mess. Get paid by Wire instead. More expensive sure, but much safer.

Crazy how medly/adultfriendfinder is now paying payouts using paypal. Maybe they have a special deal as an affiliate company that large wouldnt take the risk if they didnt have some side deal going with them I would imagine.

A (so called) webmaster who can't afford checks certainly can't afford wires either. Just because you are domiciled in a country who doesn't/can't handle paper checks/drafts it's nobody's problem except yours. The global economy does not revolve around you and your nickels. Can't afford to deal with checks? Don't earn enough to afford wires? Then get the fuck out.
If you think PayPal is not doable as a B2B payment method then you really don't belong in internet marketing. And you certainly don't know jackshit about PayPal. If you're in a country that PayPal declines then so what? If PP refuses your "business" transactions then you are extremely high risk and I don't want your little nickels either. So yes, in that case, "Paypal is a bad option for payments". PP embraces even the smallest of sincere businesses. Good call ********** ... ! |

So you want to pay an adult designer/host/traffic $100 via paypall? Have them sell you a commemorative penny. Same for affiliate payments. Can do the same thing through Google checkout. Sure you will pay points/fees but you can pay or be paid or better yet use checks or Direct Deposits (and draw out the $ asap).

We who take checks will just make more money now. Most of you hanging on a shoes string for years should wake up, grow up and just leave. The longer you stay on the bottom of the heap, the longer you are a loser. |

Paypal does accept some adult e-commerce sites on an individual review base.
But you need to ask to be reviewed for a business account BEFORE you add them to your site. As far as I understood it, membership sites are not an option.

I agree though.. PayPal will be a risky proposition. But then again, every option we have other than wire or check has the same risk IMO. |
