Yahoo is not a search engine company
Ms. Bartz places Yahoo?s position in a rather different light. ?We have never been a search company,? she said. ?It is: ?I am on Yahoo. I am going to do a search.? ?Interesting interview here: http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/0...earch-company/ She gets it. Yahoo is an AD company which uses a search engine, among others, to get traffic. Notice the sequence? Notice any parallels to the old TGP model's approach versus the Tube approach to traffic and monetization?  |
