PERL Editor that saves in Unix format?

Please suggest a PERL Editor that saves in Unix format. Thanks.

(The problem: Cute FTP Pro 2.0 does not seem to have a text-mode upload function that works... it uploads everything as binary. This means my scripts do not upload properly. Why use Cute FTP Pro? I need an SFTP compatible FTP program.)

JEdit, http://www.jedit.org

It's 100% JAVA, so it's cross-platform. It also has an awesome plugin architecture that allows it to be extended to do billions of useful things. JEdit comes with builtin syntax for tons of programming languages and a lot of useful programming tools.

If you are looking for a pure Windows program, EditPlus is it. It totally rules. Get it from download.com

Hmm... but the best thing of course is to get Linux on your computer and use a text editor which formats code... (thats basically the only reason to use an editor anyway). It makes testing a whole lot easier on a linux os.

No.. I never needed that since I use FlashFXP. BTW If you're used to Perl Builder, I wouldn't switch perl editors. Would rather install FlashFXP as a second client.. I think every editor saves the same way Perl Builder does.

Listen man....go for ultraedit it does save in unix format along
with 1000 other USEFULL options for developers....

code indent, bookmarks in code, very powerfull search and replace in multiple files, save all files at once....auto save every
X minutes so you never lose work, colum mode so you can select parts containing multiple lines, powerfull sort function, diff function, color code, etc, etc, etc

It can handle files up to 2 gigs what more do you want.
There is only 1 better editor and that codewright which cost $2000

Re-read my first post! I *need* to save in Unix format, period. What is the best CGI program that does this! Does FlashFXP save in Unix format?

I have to stop being so fucking cheap. $15 USD for all this shitty domains that I never did anything with... and $35 USD for an editor which will make me thousands if it really is that good.

DynaSpain, what do you code anyway? Perl or other?

Sorry, I kind of blamed the problem on Cute FTP Pro and not on SFTP itself. I am not sure what the problem is. It might not even be Cute FTP Pro. I just knew that if I could save the file in Unix format then that would solve the problem, whatever it happens to be.

[edit] I also did not realize that Flash FXP is an FTP client. (I was assuming you were talking about PERL editors as that is what I was asking for.) Where can I get that from? Maybe Perl Builder and Flash FXP is the best solution.

Why ssh and then edit. Wouldn't installing linux on your own computer and then testing it, work way faster than ssh'ing.

Ah. So you're a geek when you program?? I bet it makes a lot more than the daily galleries you have to submit.

Well I've only submitted one gallery in my life, for our own program. And, uhm... I'm a programmer myself. And I just saw your "just playing with ya" message so this post has no meaning whatsoever.

Ok I have UltraEdit, and I think I have it saving in Unix format as it asks if I want to convert it back to DOS everytime I load up the file. However when I up it to my server, the scripts STILL do not work. Any ideas why?

[edit]

Nevermind, it is working now. Probably a cache problem in IE...

Anyways, thanks a MILLION.

I had the permissions set properly. I think it was a cache problem! Thanks DynaMite! UltraEdit is the winner (still on trial version so I'll see how it goes for now...)

after a week you'll never want to change again.....read some
of the help files.....just to get familiar with the features.....
most people don't know them....but they're SOOOOO HANDY
you can configure the whole damn thing to your liking....and
everything can be done by key mappings.....takes a few hours
to get to know them.....but look into it you're missing a lot if you
don't
