Anyone here make music? How can I make song parodies?

I saw this and want to make similar parodies https://youtube.com/watch?v=yRVi0paZlfI
What do I need to do stuff like that?
Can I do things like that on a computer and software program and a mic, etc?

It's extremely difficult to get the music out of songs and not the words. Thus making perfect parodies difficult.

There are ways you can get just the music to a song, but I am unsure exactly how. Maybe check out some karaoke sites, those places have ways of removing he words from a song.

The only way to completely remove vocals from a track that's already mixed is if the vocals are hard panned 100% to one side. And the only song I can think of like that is a Germs song.

most karoake sites sell instrumental recordings of the songs, they don't remove the words they just buy the instrumental only tracks from the master and record it as a seperate song.

1. Winamp has a plugin that will remove "most" of the vocals
2. Try typing the song name plus Karaoke in youtube or other sites and you might find a non vocal version
3. Stop in at local karaoke stores and see if they have the track you want.
4. Learn how to play and record music and make your own ;)

That makes sense. I know a lot of record labels would give instrumental only tracks of songs to radio stations so the could use them on their bumpers and promotions, but I had no idea they would sell them to other people as well. Cool thanks for the info.

Karaoke version is a good suggestion.

Also, using a program like Audacity, you can create an inverse of the entire track. Generally, the vocals are recorded on the center channel so a direct inverse of the track will cancel the vocal's audio. Works with some songs.

If you don't have musical talent, you might need to crawl back into your mommy's womb, and come out as a musician. This is the kind of thing you can't learn.

if it's a rap parody you're trying to do, you're in luck.

go to youtube.
type in the name of the song, followed by the word, "instrumental"
