Epoch starts registering - 10 days left

Just got an email from PayCom/Epoch advising me of the registraion process for the new visa regulations.

~~~~~~
Monday October 14, 2002
10 Days to Go.
Epoch begins the Visa registration process today. The online form will be available
tonight (after 8:00 PM Pacific time) at the link listed at the bottom of this email.
Before using the form, please make note of the following:
a) The registration process requires submission by only one principal from your
company. The person designated to be the principal listed with Visa should be the
same person who signed the processing agreement with Paycom. Any changes will
need to be immediately resolved with our legal department. For more information
regarding this matter, or to make any changes, please write to [email protected]
and include the words ?Contract Amendment? in the subject line. You should also
include your Master Code or company code with your correspondence.
b) In order to use the online registration form, the principal submitting the
information must know their administrative login information (Master Code). The
Master Code is not the same as your company code. If you obtained your Master
Code previously (the one used to access the new Financial Reports) you may
proceed directly to the registration form. If you do not know your Master Code,
please contact your sales representative or technical support by writing to
[email protected].
c) The new Visa regulations will provide a means to partially customize the
descriptor which appears on your customers billing statement. The billing
descriptor will read www.paycom.net*yourbillingdescriptor* call 1-800-893-8871.
The space between the asterisks the allowed customization area and you are
allowed 3-6 characters of alpha/numeric text. Your descriptor must be unique
(on the Master Code level) and must not be explicit in nature. This descriptor
will be used to brand your company appearing both on your join/payment forms
and on your customers email confirmations as well.
d) The new Visa registration form must be submitted by every Sponsored
Merchant processing transactions in the United States with every Payment
Service Provider for which you do business in the United States. You must also
claim all U.S. processors in which you conduct business with on the registration
form. To insure that all PSP?s are reporting the same data to Visa, the registration
form will be removed October 24, 2002 and multiple billing companies will work
together to insure each sponsored merchant is properly registered.
e) If your company does not have a U.S. presence and you would like
additional information about incorporation in the U.S., please send a request
for additional information to [email protected].
f) If you have questions regarding the form or about the new requirements,
please send an email to [email protected]. An FAQ regarding the new
Visa regulations is now online at https://paycom.net/visaregfaq/ .
The registration process will only take a couple of minutes and is required to
insure that your company is properly registered, and, that your processing
continues uninterrupted after November 1, 2002. The online registration form
may be found at https://www.epochsystems.com/visaregistry/ after 8:00 PM
Pacific time this evening.
Does Epoch have a solution for webmasters living in the Bahamas? Or are they only dealing with US Companies?
Don't need glasses. If that's the case it means Epoch has a billing solution in 1 of 7 billing regions. That makes them a pretty weak processor right about now.
The Passport requirement is a show stopper. Getting a Canadian passport by the 24th is possible, although unlikely.
I can't believe these guys have left it so long we may be screwed by simple procedures like this.
It's amazing that none of the processors are addressing the international webmasters. Has it been established that not one of the big 3 can process for international webmasters? What's the deal?
I may have been watching to many old x-files episodes, but this whole thing stinks to me........
Smells a like a whole load of bullshit........
If you can count out Glo-bill like Epoch et al. are saying then the only people who can own adult web sites are US companies and paying tax in US.
Its either BS or the most outragious thing I have ever heard.
I think epoch are trying to fuck us over (again)
