hit me up if you wanna sponsor some themes I have coming up to be released, for the first few themes I will accepting 3 sponsorships per theme and they will start lower than my planned price while I build up my themes database/site

and oh yeah, while most of my themes will be adult oriented, I also make sure they can be used in both adult and mainstream

they will be simple easily configured widget ready 3 column themes, so they WILL get downloaded a LOT

Are you doing anything to ensure that people who install the archive don't just edit out the links after installing it? I know it'd be against the TOS, but I don't recall a blog I've seen that hasn't removed other sites (other than mine, where applicable).

I am thinking about doing that encoding thing that some do, but I am not quite sure how to make that happen, got any ideas?

looking around I see ioncube might work pretty well, would that be a good solution?

and also, now that I think about this more, I might have to limit the links to non-hardcore, that way people actually use the them and the hardcore links don't scare them off

The easiest way to do so to keep people from actively seeking to remove it, but would probably not get any 'bored surfer' traffic' would be to just <span style='display:none'>...</span> - however, you then don't get that surfer traffic.

I suppose you could do something bizarre like making a very simple wp plugin trivially hide the links/text within a base64 string, which outputs the full footer with the html/div/etc closure, and if they remove that, it breaks the HTML. That'd stop quite a few of them, with the objective of if they want to remove it, it'll be wrong, so they use a different theme.

Regarding non-hardcore, I also can't say.. that's really up to you and what you want to allow for your specific themes/sponsorship.

the only issue is that people HATE this shit, and I honestly think it would lessen the amount of downloads by not giving people the choice

I know when I am creating blogs these days I always leave the footer there, just cause it is an extra step in my creation

i don't know, I will have to give it a lot of thought, and actually maybe test it out on the first couple of themes...do one encoded and one not and see which does better

Yeah, that mess is quite similar; a bit overly convoluted, but I suppose it does the job to keep people out.

Again, anyone who knows PHP could just make it return true, and you'd get nothing. Hence my only suggestion for making the whole bottom footer a function.

right now, as I get this theme site up that I am building, and also building a relationship with bloggers for providing quality themes, it will be $200 per link. Once that relationship is built and my themes are sought out, the price will gradually increase to $500 per link.

The $200 is actually below industry standard for a theme sponsorship, but I want to get people interested all around for my themes and links on them.

tell you all what, since this is a new concept to the adult biz, I am going to not take any sponsorships for the first theme and use brand new sites on the sponsors links. I will post back my results here in a few weeks so you can see just how friggin powerful this is
