How long does someone have to do a chargeback?

What's the longest time you've had between a signup and chargeback? I had a CCBill chargeback today for a membership signup on March 8, 2007. They did not rebill on April 7, 2007, so it was a one-time charge. Is it possible that the charge was in dispute for that long? |

Ten months seemed like a long time for a chargeback to occur unless the dispute took an abnormally extended period to process.

Was it AMEX? Visa and Master can be chargedback for 6 months and AMEX for 12 months. If I can remember correctly.

Something you mentioned could happen for many reasons, its long time but its still within 12 months. And maximum time I have had is 3-4 months between signup and chargeback.

That was my understanding as to the maximum amount of time it may take to process the chargeback. I've seen so few chargebacks that this one seemed like a long time. You're the winner so far. |
