Who among us has had the most surgeries?

Probably not I.

I'm minus my appendix
I've had surgery on my pits (in the mid 80's) to relieve a problem with too much sweating.
Had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out, I suppose that qualifies since I was put under general anaesthetic
Had major spinal surgery back when I was in high school
And one operation when I was about 4 yrs old, had a blocked peepeehole (I still recall how painful that was after to pee)

So a total of five for me.

i dont have a ton but back in my freshman year of high school i was in a serious snownboarding accident. Went off a jump the very first day of the season and my head lands right on a stump. Cracked my skull, was in a coma for a few days, got brain surgery, had an amazing recovery.

I was with friends but im sure they were panicing not knowing what to do... Crazy thing is there happens to be a skier coming down right behind us thats a doctor (we were on the chair face off the main run). I went snowboarding the very next season. Though I do wear a helmet now!

Tonsils
Wisdom teeth
ACL reconstruction (patellar replacement)
ACL reconstruction (allograft - cadaver)
Ankle surgery to repair a fracture and torn tendons
3 Athroscopic surgeries on knees
Surgery to repair torn rim around eye socket
Surgery to reset broken jaw
Dental surgery - 3 root canals and eventually porcelain crowns

All those procedures with the exception of the first two were because of injuries sustained while playing basketball and don't include at least 150 stitches from various other injuries. I'm going through hell now trying to get my left knee healthy enough so that I can still play hoops, but the pain makes it difficult to play, its been a long ordeal.

I need to have all 4 wisdom teeth pulled but I have been dreading it. I had a rhinoplasty when I was around 17 because I had a deviated septum, and the extent to which that surgery sucked could not be put into words.

Platars Wart removed from heel ...

Left Shoulder reconstruction ...

3 impacted Wisdom Teeth chiseled off my jaw ...

Appendix removed ...

Tonsils removed ...

Nose rebuild - Rhinoplasty, Septoplasty and Twin Turbination ...

Vasectomy ...

;-)

My body John has you all beat. He served with the US Army in Germany during the late 1980's. He worked in motor transport on missile truck - with a nuclear missile on it. I believe it was something similar to a Scud.

I knew none of this. He worked at the Post Office and worked early hours. At the time I lived in the same apartment complex with my girlfriend. I got a call from his room mate at 4am saying he couldn't wake John up. I rush over there. His life changed that day and it hasn't been the same since.

He has what is called "water on the brain". Our brain drains waste fluid through our system and out when we pee. With my friend John this doesn't happen, but intstead it builds up in his brain until it puts so much pressure on his brain that he cannot function and he basically shuts down. So far he is the longest living person with this medical condition and has had fourteen operations on his brain. I've been there for him at each and every operation through out our sixteen year relationship.

John was my best man at my wedding when I married Donna.

He has a shunt - a rubber tube - that runs from his brain down to his crotch where the waste fluid drains from his brain. He seems perfectly normal unless you have a detailed conversation with him. Then you discover he's a bit childish. We believe he has partial retardiation from his condition. John will be tweny for the rest of his life.

John is fully disabled from the US Army, and also fully retired from the US Post Office. He is unable to work and pulls in just enough money to live off of.

Wow, that is harsh.

I guess in light of that I should count myself as lucky... my back surgery (when I was 16) was a spinal fusion done to correct a 45 degree curve in my spine (scoliosis), was in a body cast for a year and a half.

One surgery to remove ovary and appendix.
One surgery to remove benign tumor from shoulder.

Never injured myself and my wisdom teeth they just yanked the top 2 using only novacaine, still have the bottom 2 that are doing ok.

The colonoscopy isn't a surgical procedure, but I'm wondering more about how you dislocated your shoulders so many times.

?
