Move all your domains out of registerfly NOW!

I lost a total of 6 domains worth over 5000$ easily.

Mark my words, Registerfly is going to be Bankrupt in 6 months, so get your domains out of there!!

My last domain I lost to registerfly, I renewed 2 weeks before the renewal period, called 4 times and opened 4 tickets.

Today I got my respons, finally! (they closed my ticket BTW).

Due to the large volume of names we are processing it can take anywhere from 1 to 5 days to properly process and confirm the renewal of your expired domain names. In order to avoid these situations in the future, please ensure your domain name is renewed at least TWO WEEKS prior to the domain name expiring. We also offer a special coupon code you can use to RENEW names that will discount the renewal price to $6.99 providing it is used at least 10 days before the name expires.

Ticket CLOSED.

Now you might want to know whats going on with registerfly:

Quote from http://registerflies.com/

Now, I suggest everyone move their domains out of Registerfly quickly. Over the next couple months, things are going to get real nasty and it's important to get your names out otherwise you may lose them to a closed and Bankrupt Registerfly. If you names are still showing as Enom on the Registration, contact Jennifer Bogren at Enom and she will help you to get these names in the right account and away from Registerfly. Enom is not crooked and has no Relationship with Registerfly. Contact Enom immediately if your name hasn't yet transferred to Registerfly out of Enom.

More help to try and regain your domains (good luck) can be found here, also more info why Registerfly is screwing things up:

http://registerflies.com/

Good luck!

(Ive been waiting over 7 days for my domains to transfer out, still no luck, this is going to be bad!)

The estimated customer damage from Registerfly's screwup (the EPP code screwup, read about it on www.registerflies.com) is between 2 and 20 million$. Also, registerfly is about to lose it's ICCAN accredited registrar status due to a very high amount of complaints to ICCAN.

If they get a class action lawsuit and if they lose their accredited status, things can move fast!

(but I'm just a registerfly client, some GFYers may know far more about this than me)

No offense, but if I had $5000 worth of domains, I would renew them in advance ... more than a year at a time.

I renewed most of those domains way in advance, and in my registerfly account, everything was ok. Than, my sites went down, checked registerfly, no problem. Checked Whois, sites were in redemptionperiod. I do renew my domains way in advance.

I boggles me how a company like that can go down the shitter in a matter of months.

For 30 days after expiry you can generally still renew the domain.

Then it goes into Redemption Period for another 30 days, the Regsitrar can almost always restore a domain in Redemption Period for a fee.

Their excuse is shit, but you should still be able to salvage the domains.

True what you say... The way to renew those domains is to go to enom.com directly, and pay 160$ for a manual renewal. But only if the domain is with enom, and not registerfly as a registrar itself. The week before your domain renewal is there, they (registerfly, not enom) snag your domain, and stop responding to support tickets/calls.

Gotta love all the moniker brown nosers in this thread trying to bash GoDaddy. I've been registering domains with GoDaddy for over 5 years, have well over 100 domains with them in several different accounts, and not one single problem. I've never tried moniker because I have no reason to so I don't know about them. GoDaddy's customer service is excellent and they always have the best deals.

Registerfly screwed me over for more then 1000$, and I had to pay up just to get my 50 domains out of there.

Very bad company.
Worst support ever, if you're with them, just pray nothing bad happens.

I don't use Moniker and never have. The reason anybody bashes Godaddy is because they know what they are talking about and have been around long enough to see what happens when things go wrong there.

MOVE YOUR DOMAINS OUT OF GODADDY TOO!!!

I've heard too much bad stuff of registerfly, I'm gone now too on my final domains there... Hope the transfer goes ok.

Namecheap are great.

Yea, I dunno about that one. 5+ years of excellent service is nothing to throw away. And by the way, I know what I'm talking about so don't try and brush me off as a newbie.

You may not be a newb to the industry, but I'm VERY surprised if you have much experience on the web and are still choosing to use GoDaddy. Makes me cringe when guys recommend them.

They are great, until things go wrong. Like fake spam complaints etc etc... Read around, too many people have experienced bad stuff for it to all be made up.

I'm one of those people. Long story short... They played God with a domain of mine making thousands per week. They gave me 48 hours to pay their "ransom" or they'd take my domain... WTF!! What if I'd not have been near a computer for them 48 hours?!?!

Business would have gone.

This is not the only bad decision they made. Like I said, read around.

I have read around and as fucked up as it is the only complaints I've found are from scammers and spammers who got caught doing something dirty. And by the way, I don't host with them (their hosting deals suck and I have heard bad shit about that) but they've been on the ball with my domains since day one so I have no problems with them.

It's been said several times here and almost everybody knows someone who can tell a horror story about Registerfly and Godaddy...kinda old news and I can't feel sorry for those who get fucked by them.

People pay alot for content, design and so on, but when it comes to domains and hosting, the essentials, they try to save every cent. I don't care if a domain cost 10 bucks more a year, hell, that's less than 1 signup makes you and you can sit back, relax and know your domain is safe!

If the domain is a Com or Net get ahold of Verisign, a .info get ahold
of Aplus and register your complaint.
I know Verisign helped me get one back that expired while RegFly was out to lunch..
By the way if you're still interested in the domain with the traffic or the other ones I don't like or use any messangers but you can get me at Toker(at)toker.ws
