I saw it...I thought it was pretty chincy. Kind of "the ring" crossed with "the sixth sense". Just another hack job of a horror movie that makes you jump a few times and lacks any real character.

my kid went to see that last night with her bf, (she's 16) - she said it was creepy, the little boy (Damien - ha, I never asked her if they kept his name the same) was freaky and apparently they tied in the tsunami and iraqi war and (all those revelation type things etc) into the plotline so that kinda freaked her out even more - "but it could SO be real mom!" haha

Personally I think I'll wait til it comes out on DVD and then watch it. I enjoyed the originals, and it's always so hard NOT to compare the two when they 'remake' a movie.

I saw it last night but did not like it at all. Yeah you jump a few times but overall the movie was missing a lot, I thought they could have done a way better job at it.

Thats why I am curious. The first was not scary nor was it supposed to be. Often the case with pre 80's horror movies. So I am slightly concerned that most of the negative reviews are from people expecting something else.

The Descent - Best horror film I have seen in years, simply outstanding

The films got everything you want in a horror film

Created in 2005, one of the very few good horror films from last year - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435625/

The original Omen had the advantage of some urban legend behind it. There was a scene where a person gets decapitated by a sheet of glass, and the story at the time was an actor was actually decapitated during the filming (for those who have seen the movie - the uncut scene WAS rather realistic in its day).

Perhaps it was a myth spawned from the real decapitation of actor Vic Morrow in the Twilight Zone movie. But I'm sure it helped fuel people's curiosity at the time.

seen it last night and was not impressed. I also seen the original and thought the re-make fell way short. Wish i would have stayed home and rented the original. I don't know about the rest of you but I would have liked to have seen a different actor play damian's mother. I thought she didn't fit well in this movie especially with her past roles she has played.

I've been WAITING for this one, but can't find a copy anywhere! All they have here is the stupid American version in the cave. sigh.

Saw it yesterday. They did cut away about 80% of the book, but i liked the film very much. It wasn't scary? Some of my friends cursed me for inviting to see it after midnight lol

It is not a horror movie really, but if you like bibel-based stories you'll love it.
Was awesome for me.
