VISA/Websitebilling settles
Heard that VISA settled the lawsuit that Websitebilling brought against them. WSB seems to be pretty happy with the outcome. Anyone got any details?

Found this post on http://www.adultnetsurprise.com yesterday:
Websitebilling.com certainly makes me wonder what their game and/or problem is. Evin shows up at the Atlanta Adult Webmaster Event Friday night party and says to me that he wants to sponsor in at future events but he wants to hand out his business card at this event. So I explain the AWE Sponsor policy to him AGAIN (there?s more details but in order to keep this as brief as possible, I?m not going into them at the momemt) and tell him that if he is at the Atlanta Event, he needs to pay the sponsorship fee for the Atlanta Event. He then asks me about being an exclusive sponsor in order to eliminate Netbilling from our sponsors. I told him that we don?t work that way and there was plenty of room for both of them. I suggested that they could maybe work together. He said he wasn?t interested in that. He wanders off and then I mention to FantasyMan what is going on. He tells me that he can?t get any response from Websitebilling and that they owe him a considerable amount of money. I see Evin and bring him over to discuss the situation with FantasyMan. At the end of the conversation, the feeling is that we don?t want a billing company that owes large sums of money and doesn?t return phone calls as a sponsor for Adult Webmaster Events. Sooooo? Guess what? The next morning at 6am, when we?re putting material on all the tables, we find that he had snuck into the conference room in the middle of the night and put his business cards under all the notepads that were there for AWE attendees. I?ve got to tell you, it was a joy having to remove all those cards from all the settings. With every card I picked up, I got madder and madder thinking about how I had explained to him that it wasn?t fair for one company to sponsor in and invest their money, time, materials, manpower and travel expenses in order to help webmasters and then have some other company show up and just try to steal their customers. Unfortunately, I didn?t see Evin that day or after that so I could tell him how I felt, but maybe that was better. I guess he just snuck in, planted the cards and skipped town. In any case, if you?re doing business with websitebilling, make sure you know what you?re doing. If they owe FantasyMan money and won?t return his calls, and they pull the kind of nonsense that they did at the Atlanta Event, it leads to me wonder what kind of business they really do. |

Yeah, I was rather put off that a company as large at they are have no regard for the companies that helped build them out.
I wish somebody from their company would come over and explain a few things....... If they can dog off FantasyMan, then a webmaster would not even cause a blip on radar-- Why do companies act like this in these times, the web is not new and floundering, so mistakes in the name of pioneering just does not fly! |
