Nuts!
Well, actually walnuts! To get rid of some weight while also getting the health benefits out of eating nuts, I need to find a way to enhance their taste (especially walnuts since they are often recommended by physicians). The chocolate covered almonds/cashews/peanuts at the military commissary are tasty, but the chocolate hurts the effort to lose weight.
I bought the huge bag of walnuts at Costco's, and followed my 17-year old grand-daughter's advice about heating them a bit in the microwave and then stirring marshmallow and chocolate into them for freezing and scooping out spoonsfulls instead of eating other junk food, but there must be other recipes out there that don't pile on the calories. Any ideas on to enhance the taste without overdoing the calorie consumption? Dave Cummings Fat Fucking Old Fogey |
