Walmart equates blacks with apes on Website
This one had me laughing hard. Walmart, always the epitome of political and social correctness, listed Planet of the Apes DVD set along with a bunch of films like Introducing Dorothy Dandridge and Martin Luther King: I Have a Dream under "Similar Items". They fixed the mistake but Boingboing.net still had the screenshot which you can here.
The Update from this article here : UPDATE: Wal-Mart has apologized and claimed that it's cross-selling system had gone haywire. They deny that anyone perhaps coded some offensive keywords to enable the system to equate apes and African-Americans. FURTHER UPDATE: Planet of the Apes now shows such titles as "Coon Hunting: A White Man's Perspective" and "Proper Fitting of Your White Robe: A KKK Primer" under Similar Items
