I saw it before only it was called, "Independence Day".

Everything about that movie was recycled and I honestly hated spending 2 hours in a movie theater with Dolby Stereo Surround just to hear a little girl screaming the entire time!

umm it followed the story of the original book called ironically enough "War of the Worlds" written in 1898. Hard to say it wasn't an original story line...

I understand but everything in that movie was rehashed from earlier movies based on the novel by Wells.

***Spoiler - Don't read if you haven't watched it yet***

The fucking aliens looked EXACTLY like the aliens in Independence Day and that sucked! Coming from Speilberg I expected something much more original and cutting edge and it wasn't. I left the movie having buyer's remorse...something I have never felt after watching a Speilberg movie.

It was a LOT better than I thought it would be.

Usually hate Tom Cruise.

Yea I will agree with you there.. I had the same thoughts about the aliens and was disappointed in them. Overall I thought it was a pretty good flick considering the trash that comes out of Hollywood these days.

I will admit in the theater it did have me on the edge of my seat a few times.

My only bad comment about that film is the ending part. Damn, Steven Spielberg must have hated it so much.
