Stats software features
So.. all of you on paid hosting.
What would your ideal stats software be capable of, and show? We currently run webalizer, which is fairly basic but used to get the job done for us. But we're now going to replace it with a custom solution because we're getting sick of the way webalizer handles data internally. We can do it better. So what are you guys looking for? Anything special other than the basic bandwidth by-day etc. stats? I'm not personally coding this, but by biz partner is. I'm too damn buried in other shit to even THINK about starting a project right now. ![]() -Phil |

Track usage by:
Domain Day Week Month Referrers Browsers OS blah blah blah etc.... Basically, I'd like to see something similar to Analog, but a hell of a lot more bug free... that thing is a piece of shit. (but they had the right idea goin' in) And preferrably NOT in that fucking Perl code. Anything but Perl. |

A language is only as good as it's writer. Pretty simple, perl, C, or any language will be just as headache prone as the next if the coder sucked.
Anyways, even if it were written entirely in perl (it won't be, since perl isn't exactly fast as massive data processing), you wouldn't know. ![]() Perl by all means rocks as a tool. Don't knock it because someone made something that sucks with it. ![]() -Phil |

Most visited pages report... a lot of stats programs seem to be lacking good reports in this area... personally, the best one I have ever used is urchin.
