Oh why bother even voting?

Ok, I am new to this whole voting/election thing, but I have been trying my best to follow it and make sure I know what the hell I am doing when I go and vote....... so I don't know everything there is to know about this whole process. BUT.......

Why the hell should I even bother to vote when I am seeing on the news right now that they are already giving Kentucky to Bush... and I have heard this about a few other states in regards to one candidate or the other. It's like they have it set the way shit is going to go and this voting thing is just a ....... I don't know what it is, but it doesn't seem to make very much sense to me that they would be able to give states to either/or when there hasn't even BEEN an election yet. I thought they only gave results or whatever AFTER the vote, not before?

Someone PLEASE explain this shit to me?

Talking heads like to predict shit so they feel useful in their world of no news. Go vote even if your state is almost guaranteed to the other party.

The last election alone was proof that single votes can and do count so go vote. If nithing else you then have a right to bitch if the guy you voted for doesn't get in.

Oh I fully intend to Vote...... and so is everyone in my house that can, and if they don't then they will deal with me. LOL

I just don't understand this shit is all. They seem to already have a President elected and it makes MY vote seem less important. I just wonder how many WILL NOT vote for this reason...... now I am seeing, since I have been more involved this time, why a lot never vote and say that their Votes really don't count.

You're joking, right?

There has never been a more important time to vote. Ignore what the pundits say. Don't you remember the last election when they all got it wrong and Bush stole the election?

And if I am right it was a matter of 500 votes ....
Go for it!

I was thinking now that since US goverment has influence on all parts of the world, it would be fair enought that all countries will have an option to vote for US president LOL

Joking? No I am not joking at all....... I didn't say I wasn't going to vote, but I just asked why should I, or anyone when the media is playing this the way they are. You couldn't pay me enough to not vote this year and I have never even been to a voting booth in my life. This year just seems ever so important and I'll be there with bells on......... my point was, they make it seem like WE don't matter and all by "giving these states to the candidates" before the voting.

Hell yes, let the whole fucking world vote, I am all for that. lol

i understand your frustration but feel that the polls are completely fucked up. even in 2000, the gallup poll was showing bush with something like an 8 point lead over gore on october 27... look how that turned out.

we have the priveledge to vote in this country that makes it a responsibility. go out and voice your opinion!

sometimes they're wrong. individually it doesn't make much difference but if tens of thousands don't vote then it can make a huge difference.
