Designing and building a custom desk.
Well, I never thought the time for this would come but I have outgrown my desk. No, I didn't get fat, I just have a lot of shit to keep around me. I have been looking around for that perfect desk for quite a while and I just can't seem to find what I need so I decided to design and build one myself. Perfect use for that engineering degree that I paid many thousands for.
Since GFY is mostly a crowd of keyboard warriors I thought it'd be a perfect place to throw ideas around. So, here's the stuff that my desk has to "house". 1. Two 21" monitors, currently CRT but might be upgraded to LCD in the near future. 2. Two computers in tower cases. 2. One keyboard, one mouse. 3. Pioneer DJM 600 Mixer 4. Two Denon DNS 5000 CD players 5. Two Behinger Truth Studio Monitors 6. Huge Alesis Andromeda Synth Cetain things that I'd like to happen are: 1. Mount the mixer at an angle that would allow "top view" while sitting in a chair. 2. The CD playes have to be on each side of the mixer but can't really be mounted at an angle since it's a bad idea. 3. Keep the synth or a retractable platform that would let me slide it under the desk when not used. 4. Mount studio monitors somewhere above the CRTs while pointing their angle of attack towards me while in a seated position. Thoughts? Pics? Ideas?

A company that just focused on designing computer furniture with professionals in mind would make a killing and get away from these general desks that ikea and etc put out there....

There are some companies that make specialized desks but they seem to be going for the appearance rather functionality. They come up with some crazy layout where you work half laying down and shit and then slap on a $3000 tag on the thing. Pathetic.

What i would do is call one of the custom closet places, they build desks also, they could give you what you wanted in a few days
