![]() I am messing around with Overtures search tool, and came up with some domains with keywords in them that appear to be getting a decent amount of searches.. but I thought I'd ask GFY before I buy. Please keep in mind these would mainly be for SEO, not branding.
mainkeyword-keyword2 = 6035 overture searches mainkeyword-keyword3 = 3948 overture searches mainkeyword-keyword4 = 1919 overture searches mainkeyword-keyword6 = 1451 overture searches mainkeyword-keyword7 = 682 overture searches total 14k+ total (related) overture searches per month. what do you think? worth wasting money and time on? |

How much investing would you need to do?
We talking 20 bucks, or 200?

SEO is a lot more than just buying a domain name with the keywords hyphenated. You'll have to do a lot of linking work with other sites to get listed on the first page for those search terms.

I'm more wondering .. if Overture shows that many searches for those keywords .. if buying the hypenated domain version of those search terms is a good idea. so say if "fetish term" got 6K overture searches a month is it worth buying fetish-term.com? what if you can buy several related domains like that and link them? |

Cam, nobody can answer the question for you. In the right hands, the names could make a million bucks, in the wrong hands they could make nothing. Same with any other domain name. Like KCat said, there's a lot to the search engine game, there are people who have years of expertise in that field. I would say just buying the domains and linking them to one another, without a good understanding of current search engine strategies, isn't likely to be successful. But you never know. I'd say if you feel like studying SE's, and putting at least a few dozen hours into it, it's worth trying it out...even if those names weren't outright profitable, the knowledge you gain will be very useful.

I honestly think registering domains with keywords in them is a waste of time (or soon will be). You are best to buy domains with branding potential, etc, rather than ones with keywords. Google already seems to be fading them out, and no doubt they will continue along that course.

And also, keyword domains are usually best at 3 words anyway. If your main keyword was 'fetish' your domain should be cam-fetish-chicks.com with the main keyword in the middle. But as I said, this (in my opinion) is on it's way out.
