This morning, my girlfriends uncle passed away.

Everyone was there, family and friends, he died at home.

When they came to take his body away, they told us it would cost about $2k for 3 hours of showing.

Her uncle didn't have any insurance or anything, and his wife cannot afford it, really no one can.

We're wondering if anyone can help us with what we have to do to try and get some kind of donations going. Something online or in our town or something.

Anyone ever did anything like this before? How do we go about this?

BTW he passed away from a T4 terminal tumor (cancer)

They gave him six months, he lived 2 years.

There should be some type of goverment program or red cross out there that should be able to help....

I am siccmades girlfriend. I really appreciate the reply. I'll look around for something around my town. Also we are looking for maybe a paypal type of thing where I can get up some money and just hand the funeral home my paypal card and they can put it towards the expenses. We aren't looking for charity or anything, just looking for help finding ways to get up some money. My grandmother can't afford it because she paid for my grandfather less than 3 years ago and still paying for his cremation. My uncle had no insurance because he and my aunt couldn't afford it on social security alone. Any kind of help anyone could give us would be much appreciated and in one way or another we will show our gratitude for the direction.
