Flash embedded in HTML question.
Let's say I have a paysite with a BIG ass animated gif on the table. Now, if I was to change that to a clearer, faster and smaller flash file, life would be dandy.. right?
Now, a retarded surfer without flash comes to my site, and he gets a pop-up saying he should install flash. HOW DO I AVOID THAT? Like, if the person doesn't have flash the section where the flash was embedded is empty, and background is only visible.. no pop-ups asking to install anything. can this be done?

Go to your publish settings. On the HTML tab, use the "Flash Only" template. I think that removes the Flash Detect code.
But honestly...is there a surfer left alive without Flash installed...that you actually CARE about? ![]()

so what is the verdict?
I'd imagine that it would be best to publish the flash for v5 I think something like 96% that surf the web have v5 installed.. Macromedia has stats on their site somewhere..

I think there are no browsers left which do not support flash by default and need it to be downloaded.
If you really care about that 0.0000000001% of users you can put JS on our page which will detect version of the browser and redirect user to the page with a gif instead of flash. Trust me you don?t need to bother about it. |
