good firewall for win2k?

Whats a good firewall software for win2k?

Zone alarm keeps disconnecting/reconnecting my chat programs (ICQ,AIM) so i need another software

I have zone alarm on w2k and it doesn't disconnect anything.

Check your settings for the programs to make sure you're allowing them to access the internet.

Windows 2000 IP stack has awesome firewalling capabilities. Sadly, not too many people know about it. You don't even need any 3rd party software to configure a kickass firewall.

It's not as easy to set up as ZoneAlarm and similar things but it has no overhead.

yes i gave em access but like my icq keeps disconnecting and reconnecting automatically. AIM Does that too..

BTW i am on linksys router

I had the same problem with ICQ until I disabled the Zone Alarm's Automatic Lock feature (disables all internet access after X minutes of system non-use). For some reason, my version of Zone Alarm didn't think that ICQ was being used when I was actually using it, and disabled all Internet access after X minutes, thus disconnecting the ICQ connection).

I just re-enable that feature when I'm done chatting.

i use norton personal firewall myself. works pretty good.

for mine icq disconnects, reconnects again automatically. my aim and irc does the same too.

Using Norton Internet Security here. That in combination with using NAT on a LinkSys 8 port router, seems to work ok for me.
