Get a laundry mat. Remote ownership, very high profits - cash, recession proof.

If I had the cash: Upscale restaurants.

I was reading that PDiddy's restaurant Justins made a profit of $8 million and he's going to open up more around the country.

They are profitable because PDiddy's name is on it. It's wrong to assume that if a high profile celebrity like PDiddy can successfully promote a restaurant so can anyone!

The restaurant business is a tough way to make a living without a serious competitive advantage.

I think an upscale restaurant is a classy thing for a successful guy to own.

What about a Dunkin Donuts or a McDonalds? Those would be great investments. I've never seen one of those closedown.

Believe it or not, you can make big money owning a self service car wash.

You dont have to pay employees. You do all the maintenance your slef. It's not hard..

The only thing is to get a corner lot where there is a lot of traffic...

I used to own a detailing company when I was younger, we went to the customer. When we did a full detail on a car we charged 100$ and it took 2.5 hours. But we did the work, and when it is 98 degrees, that shit will kill ya. Then we bought an old gas station on a corner and turned it into a self service wash..

When I sold my half it was doing 175$a day incoming and payong out about 30$ for expenses...

That was 13 years ago, and the prices of the property were not so high, but you would be surprised what you can make, with very little effort. Let me tell you it really sucked to go there everyday and take the money from the machines, put aside the 30$ and split the rest with the other guy. It was ooohhhhh so hard. On top of that working a fulltime position in IT for a big company!

How much you looking to spend?

$2500 you could get you a small wood building and a ice shaving machine...put in the corner of a walmart's and just count the money...walmart charges like 20 percent for outside sale and usually welcomes the business

$10,000 you could get you a good van mount carpet cleaner and hirer a few kids to work it for ya...it dont take a genius to do it...if you have good equip. Then all you gotta do is advertise it...that is what you are good at right? how many sales could you make locally? now that would be easy to get traffic 2.

Let me know before you send me the $1000 bucks

Collectibles. Antiques, art, fine watches, historical photographs and documents, memorabilia, gold coins, ancient relics, etc.

If you buy from estate, garage and divorce sales where the dumb fucks don't know what they are "getting rid of" you can make a fortune paying very little and often find valuable pieces. My mother used to do this as a hobby on the weekends. I do it every now and then too for fun mostly. It is absolutely amazing how many people don't realize what they are letting go of for so little money. But that's the fun of it. Its a lot like treasure hunting. I bought a Rolex watch for $1,200 that I resold to a dealer for $1,700 the same day.

To give you an example of the profit margins. My mother found an anitque blanket chest from the 1700's at a garage sale. The people didn't have a clue of how historical a piece it was. She paid them $75 for it. Turned around and sold it to a collector within two months for over $15,000 (in current dollars it would be about $75,00).

A friend of the family runs small ads in hickville type small town papers all over the US saying "will pay cash for your old coins, watches, and collectibles". He's clearing about $3 Mil a year and just remarketing the stuff on eBay and to flea market dealers.

I have another friend that bought the rights to a collection of photographs by a famous Hollywood photographer who took glamour shots of many of the old time movie stars. He makes reprints and sells them online as limited editions at prices from $500 to $5000 each.

Anyway, its a fun hobby and if you know how to buy at bargain prices on quality pieces you can make enormous profits.

Huh? Does Starbucks allow franchises now? I looked at it a couple of years ago, and the entire thing was done without franchises...

Krispy Kreme works everywhere (especially major intersections in Long Island hint hint)

Brownstones in Clinton Hill and parts of Harlem can be had for 650k and will appreciate to 1mil in a couple of years.

Fort Lee NJ, close to the Edgewater section, is ready to explode even larger than it already is. Take a drive along River Rd. in Jersey going from the Midtown Tunnel all the way to the GWB to see what I mean.

Q: Does Starbucks franchise?
A: No, Starbucks does not franchise to individuals. However, in situations in which a master concessionaire or other company controls or can provide improved access to desirable retail space (such as an airport), the Company may consider licensing its operations to such a company.

If you do food stick to the well known franchises.

Restaurant biz is very hard work and long hours from everyone I've known that's done it. You got to have good managers if you don't want to work it yourself.

Marc De is big into restaurants.

I think the new trend is cafeteria style. They just opened one in this area and the place is packed solid lunch and dinner. $8.95 all you can eat and they even give you steaks at that price which is amazing. You have to work on volume so location is critical.

Vending can be a good side biz. I know a few guys that have done well with that. But location is everything and the prime spots are spoken for already.

My cousin was married to a girl whose father owns 50 car washes. Those do real well and lots of cash cash.

I have another friend that's buying casino ships right now. The projections look pretty sweet. Got to invest heavy in initial marketing to get your regular customers. Good for a tourist area also.

keep an eye on the MLM business (there are tons of good websites for this) when you find a promising one purchase a few stocks. One month later sell them again at 4-10 times the amount you bought them.

I own a good deal of shares in a new company here in Norway, this could be a good chance for you to see how it works.
The 5% Community Start out with a few hundred bucks or something.

Just dont get too greedy.. I've made that mistake in the past - it sucks

I own a good deal of shares in a new company here in Norway, this could be a good chance for you to see how it works.
The 5% Community Start out with a few hundred bucks or something.

Just dont get too greedy.. I've made that mistake in the past - it sucks
EscortBiz, this is why you shouldn't come to GFY asking for investment advice! Pissing away money in a MLM scheme is not the way to make money.. unless you're the scumbag on top of the pyramid! ;)

I never understood why people would rather be someone on the lower rung of an MLM they could start themselves.

I remember my mom had a few hundred shares of a local casino from working there. I'm sure there are some big ones listed on the market. If not you could contact them to invest.

i was thinking of something a little more involved. i think you can invest in pretty much any company under the sun via stocks.

Collectibles. Antiques, art, fine watches, historical photographs and documents, memorabilia, gold coins, ancient relics, etc.
Collectibles also tend to follow the economy and during slow times they are more available at lower prices. If you are handy with cars, the collectible car market is a particularly good area that is ripe for the pickings when times get tough. When its time to pay bills, that project Camaro with 10k invested gets sold out the door for alot less. Antique Rolexes are another example. The Bubbleback models have dropped off significantly because the strongest buyers of those items was the Japanese market and since the Nikkei tanked the bottom dropped out of the pricing. Meanwhile the Nikkei has started to climb again...

I personally like to dabble in collecting exotic pool cues. I usually have a hold time of less than a year and get 25%+ return, in many cases 40-50%. Plus I get to play with them, which is always a plus. This is a tough collectible for the uniformed to make money at though, because the market is small and there are few cues that are appreciating.

One thing about collectibles that mirrors just about any other investment, get informed about the subject matter and you stand a much better chance of making money.

I forgot to mention that A brothel in Australia has become the first brothel to be publicly traded on the stoclk exchange
you can now buy shares in it
and they plan to open a chain of brothels worldwide
I'm going to buy shares and see how it goes.
I once heard some webmaster say that Sex Sells - so i'll see if they are right

i think you can get details off their website :
