Pointless gesture? Hardly!

We've blocked thousands of hits to our sites since this started, which means the potential income of the people running these sites has also dropped significantly. If more sponsors do the same, it will make a difference.

There is a line -- 18 years old -- 18 and over is legal, anything under is illegal. Period. We will not support anything illegal. This may also cost sales to my sites, but I don't want the money that badly.

That PHP code just checks the filename and path info and not the actual content of pages or of a domain.

Congrats to Lightspeed for taking this step though. I would definitely suggest a press release and also including that you're trying to get other companies to follow.

Perhaps an open-source project would be highly beneficial as well ?
