Enabling deletion of non empty directories?

How cani do it? I want to clean around the box and it wontlet me uinless the dir is empty

try that, but i think -r is totally different than -R, i could be wrong. been a while since i've read man on it, i always use -R.

careful with this command, if you're in the root directory, it won't be pretty, and unix won't ask you if you're sure about deleting everything!

rm -rfv dirname

But be carefull, it will delete that dir and all under it without asking anything.
