I can't believe that no one posted about this yet.
It was 40 years ago yesterday that Richard Nixon, because of the Watergate scandal and the smoking gun evidence involving him (his own tapes) resigned from office. I remember that day quite clearly. Evil Kneivel tried (and failed) to jump the Snake River canyon and Richard Nixon resigned. Both were announced while I sat on the garss at Summersault '74 at Roosevelt Raceway on Long Island.  .
