Non Gooogle SE Algorithms

Even though Gooogle is king for traffic there are still lots of other search engines out there that provide plenty of traffic. Are their algorithms totally different from Gooogle? Do you think it is worth trying to rank with the others?

I find Bing's traffic very good quality. While the traffic volume sent to us is certainly not the same as Google's, it is indeed steadily growing each month and the conversion ratios tend to be consistently higher than that of Google's these days (for us), for what we are split testing with. To overlook Bing's traffic is effectively leaving money on the table.

Unfortunately in great part Yahoo/Bing simply rehashes the Google search results a little bit maybe adding some supplemental material. they've been caught and confirmed to be doing this.

As we see it, this experiment confirms our suspicion that Bing is using some combination of:

Internet Explorer 8, which can send data to Microsoft via its Suggested Sites feature
the Bing Toolbar, which can send data via Microsoft?s Customer Experience Improvement Program

or possibly some other means to send data to Bing on what people search for on Google and the Google search results they click. Those results from Google are then more likely to show up on Bing. Put another way, some Bing results increasingly look like an incomplete, stale version of Google results?a cheap imitation.
