Have you had better luck on oDesk or Elance?
I'm looking to hire someone to make an app for me and not sure which one to go with. I was wondering when it comes to building an APP and iOS development which one any of you have had luck with

I use oDesk all the time for stuff and happy with the site and the people on there. No experience with Elance though to compare it to.
