a blast from the past

I am cleaning out my storage shed that has a bunch of my mom's stuff in it (she recently moved into an assisted living facility). Among all the shit I found a Tandy 1000 computer that she bought in either 1990 or 1991.

A little little later today I'm going to plug it in and see if it still works.

So far it has been interesting. I have found clothes she hasn't worn since the 70's and are now likely vintage. A friend of my girlfriend's works at a vintage clothing store and she is going to take a look a some of this stuff to see if it has any value.

The coolest thing are all the family photo albums that I haven't seen in over 20 years.

My wife's aunt recently cleaned out her attic and apparently tossed out "old junky comic books" from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

I just found out about it the other day after-the-fact...and I shudder to think what the value may have been. I'm not a comic collector - but I know some of those early issues are worth a ton of dough now.

damn, that blows. you'd think most people would have a clue about the value of old comics.

Hell yeah they can be. I collected them in the 80's when I was kid, but at that time they printed so many copies of them most of them are not worth much, but stuff from the the 40's, 50's and 60's is almost always worth a lot. A buddy of mine had an old Donald Duck comic book from the late 40's that he recently sold for $300 and it wasn't in all that great of condition. If you had a stack of those they could add up pretty quickly.

Exactly...I figured it was rather common knowledge nowadays.

I'll have to ask her about them next time I see her. Although I'm likely gonna regret it after hearing her answer.

My Tandy 1000 RL introduced me to naked images online... And here I am.
