				Vegas Pro 11 watermark issue

I'm trying to watermark a video. No matter how small I make the watermark image as the independent PNG, Vegas blows it up to a huge size once in the Video Event Editor. From the editor, I try to shrink the watermark to my desired size but I am only allowed to shrink it "so far", and by this point, the image quality is absolutely terrible.

What am I doing wrong? I just want a small watermark on my video, probably about 125 in width.

Put your transparent PNG on a track above the video you're watermarking, and make sure the PNG matches the pixel dimensions of the video.

Oh so instead of my watermark being this little file, it should actually be the full size of the video?

I usually don't watermark in vegas but there are a couple ways to do it:

Add your watermark png to the timeline, I use a large-size png, use event pan/crop to resize and place it. Remember to change your preview quality to Best-Full to view it or it may look crappy until you render. or In photoshop create a project same resolution as your video 1920x1080 for HD 655x480 for SD with transparent background, add your watermark to the photoshop project, place and size to your taste, save and drop psd into timeline. |

![]() I always create it in photoshop on an image the size of the video. It's a perfect fit that way. |
