I'd be very surprised to see the Canucks win the Cup even though they've been the best team in the regular season. I know it sounds like Don Cherry but I don't think a team led by Swedes can win the Cup - they will need to prove the doubters wrong. I also have never been impressed with Luongo in big tournaments - Stanley Cup and Olympics.

I'm a Sabres fan and can't wait for the playoffs to start. It's been like the playoffs for us since January chasing down a playoff spot after a shitty first half of the season.

whats with all the knocking of swedes in this thread? Canucks had some disappointing playoffs in the past sure, but they have obviously overcome a lot this year. As for teams being led by canadians and russians have you looked at the redwings roster or what? That team is 60% swede with a swedish captain and they were at the cup the last few years so so much for that theory... how about the avalanche when they kicked ass all those years? you think that was entirely joe sakic? fuck no, forsberg had a huge role on that team and them winning the cup. Sundin? sure he had nothing but bad luck in Toronto, but you put that guy on any other team in the 90's and he takes them deep in to the playoffs, he was the real deal with almost zero support.

oh, and i'm a canadian and a leafs fan...
