TROLL ALERT! Actual Business Question Regarding Pricing

Pfffffffffffffffffffff!

There, just spraying some 'Troll-B-Gone'.

Okay, question regarding pricing for Paysites:

For years I have NOT shown the prices for Joining on my Join pages; rather, I just show the various Join options (1 month, 3 month, etc). Now I know for sure that the # of hits to the CCBill forms would be very high under this arrangement, which is what I wanted (going on the notion that once there, the impulse gets confirmed - or denied - and the Joins go up). I tested this theory a while back in '09 - showing the prices vs. NOT showing them - and I saw significant increases in both form hits and sales (the ultimate Goal).

But this was before my network "blossomed", if you will, and before my biggest sites (my whales) were added so it's time to test again. Just wondering what some of your experiences are? If I show the prices on my Join page the CCBill form hits will go down, of course, but would the Joins go up?

Thanks everyone!

I have no paysite exp but as a surfer and sometimes buyer of porn I always felt it was shifty if the price wasnt on the first page. I like it better and am more apt to trust the site if it is up front on the first page. What's to hide I feel.

But as an affil I say go with what works.. which I dont really know. I would think it would not hurt conversions to have it up front. Usually the guys who have it buried are the $39.95 guys.

Of course click thrus will be higher as everyone is clicking to see what the price is while at the same time subconciously or consiously annoyed with the pay-op for being shifty and making them click again. We know surfers hate to click any more than they have to.

I think it hurts conversions burying the price but what do I know.

Thanks Vjo! What a good man, good man, he was a very good man....

I do plan on split testing, just wanted to see what others found, what their experiences might be. So silly of me, I know, I know. :D

Hmm, ya got me on that lyric. Emerson Lake And Palmer - Lucky Man or When I was 17 it was a very good year.. come to mind. hehe

OK back to the topic, I got some good findings for you. Ok just looked a CCBill site that has been converting decently lately. They have on the first page you choose your pay method, on 2nd page you enter all info. Which I still consider sort of "first page." Second page would be when someone has to enter data like email addr to see the price.

And as i say they are selling. Comparing apples to oranges a bit but winners do things the winning way.

So further proof that only guys with something to hide bury the price.

Actually ya know what 2nd page pricing really does is further filter the affils traffic so yes the pay-op may make more overall but the affil doesnt. There is a loss in any click for an affil.

In all honesty and cause you need good feedback, when I looked at one of your sites that was one of the few negs I found. I remeber consciously thinking, hmm email info first (2nd page signup).

Which as an affil I consider a strike against a paysite in 2011.That is to filter, to try and sell $34.95 and $39.95 and when cross sales were bigger.

Stick with me kid. I am going places.

I say come into the light with your site. You are here and you are proud.

i could go for some Frank

koo koo baby

I just looked at one of ND sites.. guess what. All prices are on first page.

Need I say more. You dont need to bury anything, you are a proud American company that can afford to sell under 3x.xx.

ABT = Always Be Testing

Honestly, do what generates you the most revenue, and the only way to determine that is by testing. Split test tours, split test pricing options, split test showing prices or not.

Hell, even split test merchant accounts.

There are tools available for affiliates to do split testing with CPC campaigns (prosper202/tracking202) you could set up your pages to constantly be testing and optimizing.

In the end it doesn't matter which way you go, because if you go the route that generates the most revenue for you, it will also generate the most revenue for your affiliates.

Fact is he can out price most of you east of Long Island and south of Hawaii so his prices should be on the frist page.

Noone really wants to discuss that tho and I can see why. Seems only me. (no smilie in honor of 488, i know he's watchin me)

Edited: Sorry had a moment.. lol Way over the top even for me.

MP likes a vid with his discussions

I've always put the prices on the join pages and a very obvious cancel button near the buy button.

I will leave you with this good advice. Test! It is all about the $$$ in the end and surfers do funny things based on 1000 variables.

Man they are fickle. And if it works leave it be.

Signups been better since Christmas, thank God.

No pun intended.

Or the Big Guy as i like to say. Where's George Carlin when you need him.

Peace out and BIG signups.

I got to work now days.

say you will, say you will, give me one more chance
