Can I run a tube site without FFmpeg?
I was planning on using Nubiles Tubescript (or maybe another if anyone has any good free tube scripts?) however my host doesn't have FFmpeg enabled...is it still possible to run a tube site and if so what would I be missing without FFmpeg? Thanks! |

				 | Hosted videos or hotlinked? Not entirely sure if you need FFmpeg for hotlinked.

				 | Hosted I guess. I'm not real familiar with tube scripts but I wanted to try something different then just blogs so I wanted to have a legal tube script with sponsor 2-3 minute clips. My current host Hawk Host doesn't have FFmpeg on their shared hosting. I absolutely love Hawk Host but I'm going to get a second hosting account with a new host and it's come down to either Cyberwurx or CertifiedHosting. Cyberwurx doesn't have FFmpeg but Certified does however I really wanted to go with Cyberwurx =( Maybe I'll just create a TGP instead if I absolutely have to have FFmpeg installed to run a tube site. |

				 | ffmpeg is just needed if you're going to be encoding videos. if you're using nubiles script or that piece of shit embed script that some guy sells on GFY (TITS or TOSS or something like that) then you don't need to mess with it. ffmpeg is just for encoding and grabbing screenshots. Most hotlinking scripts have no use for ffmpeg.

				 | FFMPEG is needed only to convert uploaded videos and to extract thumbnails and other stuff. It's not really needed if you grab videos from other tubes. You can check my script: www.automagick.com With the new version, you can run a site like you want (by grabbing videos from several sources, like youporn, pornotube, empflix, tnaflix, and others) and if you like, you can make it grow in the future with your own videos, just like any other site. It's a good solution to start, and also a good solution for a long term project. Let me know if you have any questions. |

				 | There are very many useful TGP scripts out there. I don't know if it's harder to find a good tube script.
