Newbie and first adult blog

Hi everybody,
I am new to GFY and adult webmaster business altogether. I started my blog about month ago and this forum is valuable resource to me.
I am software developer, 30 years old, recently interested in adult web development.

My first hardcore porn blog is selectedbyb.com

Idea behind this site is to post best daily porn scenes. I have to admit, I thought that blog would have more traffic, even if it's only a month old (30-50 unique ip's per day).

First thing that has changed was default wordpress theme, I made a custom one. Next thing that I would like to add is recommended scenes (thumb + title) widget to sidebar, to get more hits at older entries.

I would appreciate your feedback on content, design and usability of blog.

Got the right sponsor, but for blogs the embeds havent been converting for me. I convert that sponsor with fhgs, and the very best tool I have found is the second to last iframe they have. I put it right under the header.

Yea, you are right. I don't have many visits, but nobody clicked on links at flv embeds. Problem is that I can't track how many people actually looked embed videos, I can track only links that show up after clip ends and little icon link in control bar of flv embed.

But I guess that my main problem now is low visits. So I'll try experimenting more, maybe even create one more specialized blog, but with same idea (best clips in my choice).

Learning about adult business is very interesting and I found out about many things I never thought before, or knew they exist. Good thing about programming also is that I learn html, css and even php basics - which I never used before.

I would recommend putting a link to your blog in your GFY signature.

Get listed on Porn Gumbo for some instant traffic and backlinks. They will list you very quickly.

Also you might consider starting another blog in a similar niche so you can get some ABC links.

OK. I have a few blogs and these are just my ideas, but...

1. Get a new header with some sort of image in it.
2. In porn " Genres " has no real meaning.. Change that to Niches
3. Move the pornstar cloud tag to the bottom or at least lower and put individual images of them in that spot. Pics at the top, as lots of surfers DONT scroll down. You have about 20 seconds to catch their attention.
4.Toooooooo Much content in each post. Use 1 photo and 1 clip or just 1 clip or 1 photos But dont use sooo much, Why buy when I can get enough from you for free.
5. Only put about the top 10 posts on the index page.
6. Have thumbs all the way down the right sidebar. Click able to programs.

Use a lot of different programs

Are you doing any keyword research?
Do you want Search Engine traffic?
I highly recommend using Google's free Keyword Tool to search for keywords. For instance "Vanessa Lane" was searched 110,000 times but her name is in 895,000 web pages which indicates a tremendous amount of competition. Looking over all of her keywords most of them are extremely competitive.

Well, actually I am not doing keyword research for this blog.

When I started I picked SelectedByB domain. I know now that this is not very SEO friendly, and that I would be better of if I chose some sex-blog-hardcore-boobs combo. I didn't even look around very much regarding sponsors because I liked Videosz and grow blog around it. And of course there are only more on less famous porn stars in those DVDs - again a lot of competition (I am not specialized into small number of porn stars).

I didn't even pick some niche, but I chose general hardcore and there is most competition there.

All these decisions aren't very SEO wise, and I begin to realize this soon after starting blog. Currently, month and a half after starting blog I have around 70-80 Ip daily. 10-20% are referrers and rest is via search engines (google, google images, google blog mostly).

Then again I enjoy picking scenes that I recommend. Scenes that I put on blog are best (by my taste), and I really don't know how long would blog last if I had to work only with some niches that I don't like (fat, ...), but I have maybe more chance of monetizing.

I don't have any conversion yet. I am ready to put serious work in this site and I will try hard for success. If there are no/low conversions in next months I will start another blog this time within some niche that keyword tools says it's OK (and I like that niche of course), and it content will be more SEO optimized.

Right now I am optimistic, and I hope that selectedbyb will attract nice amount of traffic, because of scenes quality. Then again I am looking for other opportunities also.

Well I hope all hard work will eventually be worth it. My main problem is still low trafic, not so much conversions.

I know what revshare means, but can anybody tell me what is the difference between 'revshare trial' and 'revshare no trial'? I am talking about Twistys program.
