yes you are correct the rest of the industry does pay 40-60%...paysites

but vod sites start at 20-25% for webmasters and 20% for studios

here is the vod model

webmaster promotes DVD content and gets a commission.. he can only get 25 - %
then the DVD content that was watched, that studio gets paid 20 - %
then the VOD comany pays for bandwidth,encoding,employees,credit card processing and sever related costs (storage)

in summary vod company model is
25 - 50% webmaster
20 - 40% studio
10 - 30% vod company (XonDemand)

webmasters can increase the payout with increase in sales or traffic.
studios can increase the payout with the amount of DVD's and if they want to promote Flash Streaming pay per view with XonDemand.

that is the bottom line and vod will retain yearly
paysites will only retain 3-5 months
