Newbie wants to know about Domain Parking
I was at the Internext seminar that talked about using domain parking services for any domains you have that you're not doing anything with.
This question occured to me later: Couldn't you just put up a link list on your unused sites that would do the same thing as using a domain parking service? I mean, is there anything special that a domain parking service gets you? Do they send extra traffic to your sites or help with SEO? Also, can anyone here at GFY recommend some good domain parking services? Thanks! |

Good question. I always redirect a domain to the most relevant site that I own but I have considered parking.

Hopefully someone has an answer for this. It seems strange that Doman Parking services have sprung up when most people could just list all their affiliate links on dormant sites. So the domain parking service must be offering something extra... or do they?

IMO, domain parking is best used for mainstream domains. If you have unused adult names either redirect them or make them into a link list, hub, etc.
You get pennies per click with a parking service, all depending on the keywords. Not worth it. |

The only time I use domain parking is if I'm trying to sell a domain. I will use sedo's domain parking service. I haven't seen any seo advantage to using a parking service. If it is a domain that I'm planning on using I just forward it on to one of my other domains.

It's good to use for SEO just so your site get's indexed and it make it look like you site has been online for awhile. You don't really need to park it to do that though.
