Social bookmarking and Traffic
After seeing several posts on forums, I bookmarked my websites to social bookmarking websites, and could notice increase in traffic for many days. It also helped me in conversions.
I had hired a person to do the job of submission, and the amount spent on this was really worth. Now I wish to bookmark the same websites again. Are there any ways to submit the same websites to those social bookmarking websites and get the traffic and conversions again and again? Are there any suggestions to do this? I plan to create blogs and display products there. Then I will be able to submit those blogs to these social bookmarking websites. Will this method help? |

I'm guessing your talking about sites like Digg? If so, you can not count on any sort of consistent results unless you have a ton of friends that will digg your post as soon as you post it so it makes it to the front page. The same is true of any social bookmarking sites. Your post needs to make it to the front page in order to get any real traffic and that won't happen without a lot of people giving your post a thumbs up within an hour or so.
One thing that webmasters that appear on the main page a lot do is to first add a ton of friends on that particular social bookmarking site and then email them every time they want a post thumbed up.

Yeah, you can't really post the same page twice (in digg, del.icio.us, reddit or furl). You can, however, post different pages under the same site (great if you have a lot of articles within the same site. The only way to get additional backlinks (or traffic) from these sites is to get your on top of the others being voted on. Have your friends do the voting.
For blogs, tag and ping sites also work the same way. hahahahahahahahahaha (for some reason. techn0rati is being replaced by hahahas) is an example of one. Check out sites like Bloglines also. These can help with the traffic generation..not so sure how they are with conversions though. |
