All I say is they can be a gaint pain if lighting is not perfect. Do not even bother trying to film in a room that does not have black walls, ceiling and floor. If you light the screen right. the green/blue light will reflect back on to the model and make all manor of problems. If you can afford it use a chromamatte . you will have to put a spaicel led light on the lens of the cam. but you will never have light problems again. if you plann to do it often invest . you will thank me.
chromaMatte

Here are some tricks to Chroma Keying according to my BF who is a TD for a major cable TV news network: 1) Make sure the light across the Chroma Key wall are even. Use a waveform monitor to check. A light meter wont help. You need to set the lighting up to what the switcher/software see's. 2) You need at least 80 units of Chroma. Use a waveform monitor. 3) Put the background you want on the 'A' BKNG buss and the camera on the KEY buss. 3) Use the KEY BKNG to null out the green. 4) Adjust the video gain and key clip to adjust the key. You can do this on 1 M/E buss. If the key still doesn't look good, you can CHR Key it a second time. 1) On M/E 2, bring M/E 1 in on the background bus. 2) Setup the Key as you would normally do. You are replacing the camera with M/E 1. 2) When you set up the key, use the KEY BKNG to null out yellow. 3) Adjust the video gain and key clip to adjust the key. Make sure the model does not get too close to the wall or you will have shitty looking shadows. My BF says it’s real easy on any Switcher. He is partial to GVG switchers since he drives one daily. He says you can key over any color. Its all in the way you set the key up. We hope this helps Suzy |
