Can Blogger still delete a blog if hosted on your own server?

Depending on how you have things setup technically speaking yes, if you provide FTP access than the files are being uploaded with your username so then blogger has the access necessary to modify your files and delete them.

Which can happen normally if you delete entries and want to remove them.

If you are looking for a good freeware alternative to blogger check out Moveabletype.org

Also very good, installs on the server side, so you have full control and dont need to worry about anything.

Don't bother with blogger.

Get some cheap hosting - you can find some at less that $10 a month - and install a freebie blog script such as Moveable Type, Word Press or TextPattern. I use the latter which is quite a flexible tool.

1. Find a host, I'd recommend Webair for example, rock solid, good service. Basic hosting, well enough for a blog, starts at 9.95$ with your won IP and 150GB to burn.
2. Download and install wordpress, it's done in 10 minutes.
3. Go to ZippedSites and signup, enter your sponsor codes, download the ZippedBlogs plugin.
4. Import thousands of Sponsor FHGs with descriptions, text, etc, in your blog within an hour.
5. Almost done, it just needs some tweaking of the template (adjust permalink URL to be SE friendly!), some useful plugins maybe.

So, even if you have never done it before, you can create a blog with thousands of entries in a day easily, it's not much work and google will reward it once you start getting links to your blog. Forget blogger, it's not bad, but nothing beats a blog on your own hosting which you can fully customize

To be clear, I do have my own server, but have used the blogger platform just because I was already used to it.

I'm using blogger with my own hosting. It worries me some, but it's not my only site. If blogger pulls the plug, I'm losing a lot. Not everything.

At this stage of the game. I don't mind taking the risk because of the ease of use.

no if it's on your own hosting they wont pull it. But you would probably be better installing something like wordpress so you've got more functionality over your blog.

If you are using blogger for porn, just make sure you arent listed in their directory - if kids are using the surfbar from their hosted sites and end up at your place, it's gonna piss blogger.com off!
