When I was starting out I used Atci Hosting

The best and cheapest deal I could find and never had a problem with uptime. Also customer service is very friendly. Even for n00bs

I use MidPhase and have for over a year. They beat the hell out of my old host for customer service and I've never had any issues with performance.

I also try not to recommend hosts I haven't tried, but I've heard nothing but good about Tear2hosting.com as well. I've heard some aweful things about a few of the others, but I won't mention their names.
