Realistic revenue expectations vs start-up and monthly costs

I'm looking to break away from using freehosts and such, and start paying for domains, hosting, scripts, etc. I am handcuffed by using freehosts and I realize to make some money I need to finally spend some.

My question is, assuming I find myself a good domain and get my galleries listed often, build link trades, drive traffic etc, what sort of revenue can a newbie look to make?

I'm not ready to quit my full-time career job, but that is the goal.

How long might it take for someone to reach the $3-4K profit a month range, assuming that they bust their asses for a while, submitting to TGP's and the like.

Thanks!

My best sponsors so far have been TopCash and NastyDollars. Juggscash also works well for me.

Time to start building traffic.

Dont expect anything like that the first year, unless you have some secret way to make you're surfers work for you or a hidden traffic source that no-one else know about.

After the first year, you will get some insight on how you are doing, and can lay you're future race based on that.

Good luck m8

I'm already making around $600 a month, without spending a single cent. I kinda like that ROI.

I am going to venturing into actually buying domain names, making free sites, blogs and whatever else I can get my mitts on. Once I realized I could make money without spending a single cent, I knew that I'd be able to make some good coin once I start spending.

I just want to make sure I don't go broke paying for bandwidth before I start actually getting sales.

Solution to that problem is to use a cheap host like DreamHost, and offer code "HELPME" which will give you up to 80% (up to $80ish) off most plans. When you bear in mind that the lowest plan is 20 GB space and 1 TB (1,000 GB) bandwidth for $9.95 a month ($1.99ish with the promo code "HELPME"), then you really don't have to worry

Time, reading, research, application, a bit of luck, and trial and error.

I wish there actually WAS a formula, but alas..

plug over and over what works for you, change the stuff that dont works.
Improve, expand, market your sites, gallery and freesites and never EVER give up!

Oh...and you wont go broke by spending money the right way.
You have to spend to make more here....better learn it stright away.

dont listen to this " hard work" shit.

i started 2 websites, both clones, 2 month's ago.

1. I optimized the site for each search engine
took a good 3 weeks for the major search engines to crawl it.

my out of pocket costs:

hosting : 10 bucks a month for 1 tb of bw transfer + free domain name

Time: roughly 250 hours ( worked on it when i was bored )

my current profits:

1. 300 a month . ( webmaster pays me to put his banner on my site )
2. roughly 500 bucks a month from adbrite ( will definetly increase with time )
3. well over 5000.00 a month givin away free porn ( just got my first payment this month )

ANYONE WHO TELLS YOU " oh it takes hard work...bla bla bla..." is a fuckin fool who spent countless wasted time to actually figure out the " how to"

over 100,000 page loads.....up to 30,000 unique hits a day, put that cash in my pocket.

Free hosts are only good for spamming.

( should your free host page get a good rank in the search engines...your fucked. They own the page, not you)

Once your set up and rolling, 3-4 k a month is NOTHING.

I am also just starting and I hope to bring in some good profits over the next month or so. I have a couple promo ideas that I am sure will bring in some decent revenue.

Hey Smurf.

What kind of bw do you usually burn up? That's my biggest fear. I start messing with TGP's and suddenly I go through a shitload of bw, only to find crap sales.

Allegedly TGP's aren't what they used to be. I enjoy blogs more anyway. More text to tempt the SE's.

I figure I can double and triple my earnings by getting my own domain and hosting, I just want to avoid quadrupling my expenses by burning through bw, considering that right now, my only expense is my time.
