Tax Information

Hey guys...

This might sound like a stupid question for some, but here goes...If you make enough from a sponsor, where the govt. wants their cut, and you are 1099'd...what is the procedure? what do you claim this earned income as?

Any info on this would be appreciated.

Simple. Take any W-2 forms from regular jobs and the 1099 to any tax prep place like Jackson Hewitt or H & R Block and have them do your taxes.

If you are new to this you likely didn't make enough to need a CPA or anything too exciting.

you'll fill out a "schedule C" form where you list your self-employment income. sites like turbo tax or esmarttax.com make it easy for you.

I would talk to a good accountant.. this is the #1 you must have.

a good accounted would discuss with you your options.. if you make lots of $$ in this industry... their are ways to deal with it.. just get a good accountant.
