Is movie anti-hotlink protection necessary or is the amount of leeched traffic not always too excessive to be concerned about?

i think leeching can hurt you pretty bad, if someone from a large message board hot links your video then your bandwidth can be eaten up quickly -

It depends who hotlinks to your movies, but sometimes you don't even know if you been hotlinked or not, cus the thiefs use an empty HTTP_REFER to bypass htaccess, so its not traceable. I am aware of a big asian hotlinking site where there are movie galleries hotlinked more than 40000 timesOriginally posted by golden_boy69
